Newark –Gary D. Schultz, 66, died Saturday (January 23, 2010) at the Clifton Springs Hospital.

          Friends may call from 3-7 P.M. on Tuesday (January 26th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark.  Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday (January 27th) at the First United Methodist Church, South Main Street, Newark with Rev. Roger Smith officiating.  Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery.

          Memorials in his name may be made to the Finger Lakes Hematology & Oncology Center, 6 Ambulance Drive, Clifton Springs, New York 14432 or to the American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Road N. Rochester, New York 14609.       

          Mr. Schultz was born in Naples on April 27, 1943, the son of Denton and Enid Perry Schultz.  He graduated from Trumansburg High School in 1961 and from Penn State in 1965, with a degree in Business Management.   He came to Newark for the job of Director of Purchasing at Sarah Coventry and worked there until its closing.  He then worked at Key Industries for 13 years.  For the past 10 years, Gary has been a department manager at Wal-Mart in Newark.    He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and had been a member of the Newark Kiwanis Club.

          Gary is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dian Harrington Schultz,  daughter Jennifer (Sean) Beattie of Newark, three sons Kevin (Stacy) of Newark, Stephen (Debra) of Walworth and Mark (Brandi) of Las Vegas; ten grandchildren Brianna & Gabrielle Olschewske, Brandon & Steven Beattie, Courtney, Emily, Allyson, Megan, Kaleb and Camryn Schultz his mother Enid Schultz of Sodus, two sisters Diane (Carlton) Stone of Wheatfield and Kathy (Wayne) Spaulding of Ontario, several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his father Denton in 1991.
