George W. Gehring

Newark/Lyons" George W. Gehring, 61, died Tuesday (Feb. 7, 2006) at Newark Wayne Community Hospital.

Private funeral services will be held at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Burial will be in Port Gibson Cemetery.

Mr. Gehring was born on March 12, 1944 in Nurnberg, Germany the son of John and Erma Seitz Gehring. He moved to the USA when he was 10 years of age becoming a citizen on July 22, 1958 and served in the US Army from 1965 to 1967. George worked for Mobil Chemical in Macedon for over twenty-nine years retiring on disability in 2004. For many years, he volunteered at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital in the snack bar and gift shop.

He is survived by his wife Janice, two daughters Melissa (John) Bowman of Newark and Lisa Gehring of Lyons, a sister Linda Kelly of Pennsylvania.
