Newark—Gerald L. Hamelynck, 76, died on Saturday (October 15, 2016) at the Wayne County Nursing Home.

Friends may call at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark from 4-8 P.M. on Wednesday (October 19^th) where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday with Father Andrew D'Angio-White officiating. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Memorials, in his name, may be made to the American Lung Association, Finger Lakes Region, 1595 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, New York 14620.

Jerry was born in Lyons on December 11, 1939, the son of Leo and Beatrice Ellis Hamelynck. He worked at Garlock, Inc. as banbury operator for over 35 years, retiring in 2002. Jerry was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church and the Palmyra Moose Club.

He survived his wife of 45 years, Bonnie, sons Terry (Stephanie) Hamelynck of Clearwater, FL and Scott (Dawn) Foss of Lyons; daughter Tracy (Pat) Elliott of Newark; 4 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; siblings Gene Hamelynck of Newark and Bonnie (CP) Atkins of Mesa, AZ.; several nieces and nephews.
