Newark"Gere F. Otterbein, 36, died Thursday (June 21, 2007) at his home on Colton Avenue.

. Friends may call from 5-8 PM on Monday (June 25th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday (June 26th) at 1 P.M. with Rev. Joyce Sirianni officiating. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Mr. Otterbein was born in Buffalo, on February 24, 1971, the son of Keith and Charlotte Swanson Otterbein. He grew-up in the Buffalo area graduating from Williamsville South High School in 1988. Gere attended SUNY Fredonia and graduated from SUNY Buffalo with a Degree in History. He was a welder and worked for the Pipe Fitters Union, Local 13 in Rochester.

He is survived by his fiance Bonnie Jones of Newark, daughter Angela Otterbein and stepson Matthew McGahen both at home, his parents Keith and Charlotte Otterbein of Williamsville, NY and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
