Newark—Gwenyth Y. Farrell, 93, died on Wednesday (January 2, 2019) at the Newark Manor Nursing Home.
Friends may call from 4-6 PM on Wednesday (January 9th) in the Garden Room at the Newark Manor Nursing Home where a Memorial Service will be held at 6 PM. At a latter date, she will be buried in England.
Gwenyth was born on August 31, 1925 in Sutton Surrey, England, the daughter of the late Rupert and Minnie Hilliar Wellicome. During World War II, she served in the Women Royal Naval Service. Gwen met a US Soldier, Howard Farrell and they were married on December 10, 1945 in England. She partnered with Howard in owning and operating poultry farms in the Vineland, New Jersey area for many years. After they retired from farming, she was an assistance accountant in Philadelphia for a several years. In retirement, they lived in the Wolcott area before moving to the Newark Manor Nursing Home, three years ago.
Gwen is survived by her beloved husband of 73 years, Howard; a daughter Gwenyth (Richard) Thomson of Redwood, New York; a grandson Christopher (Mystie) Consalvo of Wolcott and two great grandsons Malachi and Trey Consalvo.
