Hazel M. Tellier
Newark/Hammondsport —Hazel M. Tellier, 87, died Thursday (February 18, 2016) at her home in Lyons.
Friends may call from 3 to 6 P.M. on Thursday (February 25, 2016) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. A funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday (February 26th ) at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Palmyra Cemetery.
Memorials, in her name, may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Hazel was born on May 18, 1928 in Newark, the daughter of the late William and Ada Hinkley Tellier. She was a 1947 graduate of Newark High School.
Hazel worked for over 36 years at the New York Telephone Company, first in the Newark office and then in Geneva and, retiring from the Elmira office in 1986. She was an active member of the NY Telephone Pioneers. After retirement, Hazel loved to travel with the Kay Venture's travel group. She did a lot of antique collecting and enjoyed o reading.
She is survived by her brother Willis (Joan) Tellier of Newark; nieces and nephews Patricia Larzelere, David Lootens, Ronald Lootens, Jeffery Tellier, Kevin Tellier, Julie Odell, and Kimberly Lockwood; several great nieces and nephews; a long time friend Bill Brown of Penn Yan; all those she traveled with, her high school classmates, and the many friends she gathered along the way. Hazel was predeceased by two sisters Martha Lootens and Shirley Tellier.
