Helen V. Nita
Newark- Helen V. Nita, died Thursday (January 23, 2014) at the Hildebrandt Hospice Center in Rochester.
Friends may call from 2-4 PM on Sunday (January 26th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Father Felix Dalimpuo will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM on Monday (January 27th) at St. Michael Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.
Mrs. Nita was born in Drohomierchamy, Poland the daughter of Antoriua and Josefa Weis Rudnicki. She spent World War II in the Nazi Labor Camp, Bad Reichenhall, in Germany. Helen came to the United States in 1950 and becamea a citizen on November 23, 1976. She had worked at Jackson & Perkins, C.H. Stuart Companies and then for twenty-one years she was a certified Nursing Assistant at the Wayne County Nursing Home. Helen was a communicant of St. Michael Church where she sang in the choir, helped with the rummage sales and Martha Ministries. She helped with the Together In Christ Christmas Dinners. Helen was also a member of the Newark Elk Lodge.
She is survived by her son Ronald (Robin) Nita of Newark and a daughter Diana Nita (her husband Don DeLong) of Edwardsburg, Michigan; four grandchildren Joshua and Kristin Nita; Jordan and Sarah DeLong. Helen was predeceased by her husband Edmund in1982, a sister Kazimiera Niedziela and a brother Richard Rudnicki.
