Newark, NY—Inez Brumm, 94, died on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Fairport Baptist Home.  

Friends may call on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 3:00pm – 6:00pm at Paul L. Murphy & Son’s Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark, NY 14513.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church, 301 S. Main St. in Newark with Rev. Garry McCaffery officiating. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery.

Memorials, in her name, may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 301 S. Main St., Newark, NY 14513 or to the Newark Community Center, 303 East Avenue, Newark, NY 14513.

Mrs. Brumm was born April 23, 1930, in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of Gordon and Pearl Stafford Potwin. She grew up in Ellington, NY and graduated from Falconer High School in 1948. She then went on the receive a 2-year degree in Business from Keuka College in 1950. She worked as a secretary for Bloomer Bros. Co. in Newark, NY. She met and married Harold Brumm and lived in Newark.  Mrs. Brumm liked to bowl and travel.

Mrs. Brumm is survived by two sons; David (Marie) Brumm in Florida and Jonathan (Terri) Brumm in Irondequoit; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Brumm; a son, Steven Brumm; a granddaughter, Hannah Brumm; three brothers, Roger Potwin, Wayne Potwin and Calvin Potwin; and a sister, Doratha (George) Bridenbaker.
