Ivan M. Hyman
Newark—Ivan M. Hyman, 82, died Wednesday (February 9, 2011) at the DeMay Living Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday (February 12th) at the First United Methodist Church, South Main Street, Newark with Rev. Elton
Smith, officiating. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to the First United Methodist Church Choir, P.O. Box 189, Newark, New York 14513.
Mr. Hyman was born May 28, 1928, in Newark, the son of the late Arthur and Jennie Martin Hyman. A 1946 graduate of Newark High School, he farmed on the family farm until his retirement in 1999. Ivan was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church and sang in the choir for over 60 years. He was a member of the Newark Elks Lodge. Ivan had been a member of the Newark Players. Ivan also enjoyed bowling.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley (Weinman) Hyman, four children Sue (Dale) Russell of Newark, John (Alicia) of Palmyra, Steve (Bonnie) of Newark and Roger (Heather) of Webster; thirteen grandchildren and three great grandsons.
