James Buragina
Syracuse/Newark—James Buragina, 87, died Saturday (April 16, 2011) at the Iroquois Nursing Home in Jamesville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Felix Dalimpuo at 10 A.M. on Wednesday (April 20th) at St. Michael’s Church, South Main Street, Newark, New York. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.
Memorials, in his name, may be made to St. Michael’s Church, 401 South Main Street, New York 14513.
Mr. Buragina was born December 2, 1923, in Newark, the son of the late Peter and Mary Parisi Buragina. He was a graduate of Newark High School and the University of Rochester. Jim served as a military policeman in the US Army during World War II. He was a long time life insurance salesman for Prudential Life Insurance Company in the Syracuse area.
He is survived by three sisters Ann (Carl) Conklin, Jeanette (Paul) Staples and Angeline (John) Yaniri all of Newark, several nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law Portia and James Paone.
