Newark"James Martin Beale 85 passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2008.

Funeral Services will be held at 11A.M. on Friday, March 7th at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 400 South Main Street in Newark, with the Rev Carmen Seufert officiating.

In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jim's memory to St. Mark's Church, 400 South Main St, Newark, NY 14513 or to the ViaHealth of Wayne Foundation, PO Box 571, Newark, NY 14513.

Mr. Beale was born in Rochester on February 13, 1923 the son of Arthur William and Carolyn Martin Beale. Jim graduated from the Peddie School in 1942 and attended Colgate University. During World War II he served in the Pacific Theater as a Navigator on B-24s. After the war Jim, returned to Colgate University. He married Margaret Stuart on June 28, 1947. He became an Executive at the C.H. Stuart Company in Newark. For over 50 years Jim was a member of the Newark Rotary club. Active in the community he became a vestry Member at St. Mark's Church in Newark, a board member for the Wayne County Historical Society and as the President of the Wayne County United Way. Jim served on the Board of Trustees for Keuka College. He was also the chairman of the C.H. Stuart Foundation.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Margaret Stuart, Children Sarah (Hal) Gaffin, James M. Beale Jr., Harriet (John) Bonin, and Elizabeth Beale, grandchildren Jennifer Murray, George Yancey, Tom and Kate Beale, Julia, Caroline and William Bonin and five great grandchildren, two sisters Martha (Donald) Clark, Barbara (Jim) Brayer and a brother Robert (Joanne) Beale. He was predeceased by his brother Arthur William Beale Jr.
