James A. Ver Heecke

Newark"James A. Ver Heecke, 67, died Tuesday (June 16, 2009) at the Clifton Springs Hospital.

Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. on Thursday (June 18th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Friday (June 19th) at the funeral home with Pat Albrecht officiating. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to the Finger Lakes Hematology & Oncology Center, 6 Ambulance Drive, Clifton Springs, New York 14432.

Mr. Ver Heecke was born on August 26, 1941, in Rochester, the son of Edmund and Marguerite Van Heck Ver Heecke. He retired in 1995 from Mobil Chemical where he had worked in the Employee Relations Department for 35 years.

Jim attended Williamson High School transferring to Newark Central High in his sophomore year. He graduated in 1959. From 1960 tom 1963, he served in the US Army. Jim married Sharon Kasprowicz on July 14, 1962.

He survived by his wife Sharon, a daughter Marsha (Art) Williams of Newark, a son Christopher of Seattle, WA., four grandchildren Joshua and Steven Bowker, David and Jessica Ver Heeche, sister Patricia (Walt) Arnold of Port Gibson, a sister-in-law Evelyn (John) Ramph of Newark and a brother-in-law Edward Kasprowicz of North Dakota.
