Newark ---Jane M. Palermo, 77, of Stuart Avenue, died Monday (May 23, 2005) at Wayne County Nursing Home.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Wednesday (May 25th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Funeral services will be at 11 AM. on Thursday (May 26th) at the First United Methodist Church, South Main Street, Newark with the Rev. Dr. Elton O. Smith, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Mrs. Palmero was born February 9, 1928, in Elmhurst, Illinois, the daughter of John and Dorothy Baethke Krause. After moving to Newark, she joined the First United Methodist Church in 1954 where she was an active member. She served as the secretary of the Administrative Council, member of the Ruth Circle, and the quilters group. She also taught Sunday school and was on the kitchen committee. Jane had been Co-President of the United Methodist Women and also had served as their secretary.
She is survived by three daughters Jayne (Donald) Ward of Sayre, Pa., Lorrie (John) Sorensen of Palmyra and Carol (John) Wilck of Franklin, Tenn.; seven grandchildren Anthony and Lorrie Ward, Joanna, Jennifer and Johnna Sorensen, Adam and Amanda Wilck, several nieces and nephews. Jane was predeceased by her husband Anthony in January 2004, a brother and five sisters.
