Newark"Janet W. Diamond, 78, of Grant Street, died Monday (July 3, 2006) at the Blossom View Nursing Home in Sodus.

Father Peter Clifford will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM on Friday (July 7th) at St. Michael's Church. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Janet's name may be made to either St. Michael's Church 401 South Main Street or to St. Michael's School, 320 South Main Street, Newark, New York 14513.

Mrs. Diamond was born on May 4, 1928, in Glasgow, Scotland, the daughter of David and Margaret Robertson Overend. She came to this country in 1952 and lived in Rochester for several years before moving to Newark in 1957. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Church.

Janet was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 54 years Doctor Edward J. Diamond, three sons Peter (Sherry) of Newark, Michael (Sandy) of Newark and Charles (Sallie) of Pleasanton, Ca.; ten grandchildren; two sisters Margaret (Graham) Thomson of Sebring, Fl. and Mary (Thomas) Ciampoli of Rochester, several nieces and nephews.
