Newark—Joan A. Brady, 79, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the DeMay Living Center.

Friends may call from 4-7 PM on Friday, March 17, 2023 at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller St. in Newark.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, March 18^th at St. Michael Church, 401 S. Main St. in Newark.  Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

In leiu of flowers, memorials in her name, may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Sociey, 1000 Elmwood Av., Rochester, NY 14620.

Joan was born in Newark, NY on May 29, 1943 the daughter of the late Franklin and Marguerite Gerber Allen. She was a graduate of Newark High School, Class of 1961. For many years she worked as an operations manager for HSM Packaging. Joan enjoyed watching her favorite sports teams and weekly get togethers with her high school friends.

She is survived by a daughter Marci (Murphy) Hosford of Fairport; two grandchildren Benjamin and Caitlin Hosford; two sisters Marsha (Thomas) Tarantelli, Kathryn Allen; brother Thomas Allen; sister-in-law Linda Allen.  She was predeceased by her brother Michael Allen and brother-in-law Ellis Martin II.
