John E. “Jack” Dubler

Newark—John “Jack” Dubler, 82, passed away at Newark Wayne Community Hospital on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.

Friends may call on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 2-5 PM at Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 E. Miller St., Newark, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Monday March 24, 2025, at St. Michael Church, 401 S. Main Street, Newark, NY. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Memorials in his name may be made to St. Michael Church, Grounds Beautification, 401 S. Main St., Newark, NY 14513.

Jack was born on March 9, 1943, the son of the late Edward J. and Leona Nutten Dubler. He was a graduate of Newark High School, Class of 1963 and joined the U.S. Air Force in June of 1963 until 1966. Jack was a K-9 Officer with the Rochester Police Department and later held classes for the RPD and trained K-9’s. Along with other officers, he formed Together in Christ through RPD. He was a life member of the Newark Elks Lodge. For many years he volunteered at Newark Wayne Community Hospital. Jack was a member of the Newark School Board and was the Newarkfest President for many years. At St. Michael Church in Newark, Jack was an alter server for funerals and volunteered in the Parish office.

He is survived by his wife, Diana; a daughter, Julie Fletcher; a son, Jon (Kristie) Dubler; three grandchildren, Paige Fletcher, Conor (Kathea) Dubler, Jillian Dubler. He is predeceased by his sister, Beverly Jensen, and his K-9 partner, Branden.
