Newark"John Howard Eaton, 61, died Tuesday (May 22, 2007) at Bath Veterans Hospital.

Friends may call from 4-7 PM on Friday (May 25th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Memorials in his name may be made the Park Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, Maple Court, Newark, New York 14513.

Mr. Eaton was born in Spokane, Washington, on June 17, 1945, the son of Elon H. and Jane Pierce Eaton. He grew up in Olmsted, Ohio and graduated from Bowling Green University in 1972 with a Degree in Business. John served with US Army during the Vietnam Era. He had been a sales rep. for the Payroll Store in Palmyra and Staff Leasing in Syracuse. John was a member of the Park Presbyterian Church where he sang in the choir for many years. He was a member of the Newark Rotary and had been a member of the Newark Country Club. John enjoyed golfing and hunting.

He is survived by his children Jennifer (Jeff) Kolff of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Keeley (Brian) Boerman of Lansing, New York, and Thomas of Richmond, Vermont; three grandchildren, a brother David (Doris) Eaton of Sodus and a sister Patricia (Daniel) Halliday of Owego, several nieces and nephews.
