John M. Lents, III

Shortsville/Lyons"John M. Lents, III, 60, formerly of Lyons passed away at 12:05 AM on Saturday (August 12, 2006) at his home in Shortsville after a long illness.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial service celebrating his life at noon on Tuesday (August 15th) at his home, 3863 Dewey Road in Shortsville. Ed Marriott will be delivering his eulogy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Manchester Fire Department, PO Box 414, Manchester, New York 14504.

Mr. Lents was born on January 11, 1946 in Croswell, Michigan, the son of the late John and Anne Ripley Lents. John was in business with his dad for many years as a manufacturing rep and was involved in sales all of his life. He was an avid tennis player and a passionate fisherman. John was also active in barbershop singing for many years.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Dean Lents, a daughter Amanda Lents of Glendale, CA, a son John Lents IV of Manchester; a brother Kyle (Terry) of New Hampshire, along with many friends. John was predeceased by two brothers Peter and Paul Lents.
