Newark"Kenneth B. Colf, 84, died Wednesday (Feb. 18, 2009) at his home on Sandhill Road.

Honoring his request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Private burial services will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Canandaigua at the convenience of the family.

Memorials contributions, in his name, may be made to Easter Seals, 103 White Spruce Blvd., Rochester, New York 14623.

Mr. Colf was born on July 12, 1924 in Canandaigua, the son of Augustus and Dusie Wirth Colf. A welder and mechanic by trade, Ken owned and operated a gas and service station in Palmyra for many years. He retired in 1986, from the Newark Auto Parts store where he was manager for several years. He was a member of the Zion Episcopal Church and had been a member of the Moose Club in Palmyra

He is survived by two daughters Patricia (Donald) Barcomb of Newark and Nancy (Stuart) Wood of Macedon, three grandchildren William (Kerri) Barcomb of Marion, IN, Madeleine and Elliot Wood of Macedon, two sisters Evelyn (Bennie) Sharp of Wolcott and Carol (Gary) Mortensen of Addison, several nieces and nephews. Ken was predeceased by his wife Ruth in 2005, a son Donald in 1962 and a grandson Brian Barcomb in 2004, three brothers and one sister.
