Kermit R. Evans
Penfield—Kermit R. Evans, 84, died on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Highland Hospital.
Memorial services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Penfield United Methodist Church. Baird Rd Penfield, NY 14526
Kermit was born in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania on December 11, 1937 the son of the late Kermit P. and Ella Marie Evans. At a young age they moved to Wellston, Ohio. After graduating from High School, Kermit enrolled at Heidelberg College.
In 1957 he left college to enlist in the United States Air Force. After his enlistment he returned to Heidelberg to complete his education. While there he was named captain of the football team. He soon met the love of his life, Linda Curro. They married and remained so for 57 years. After some years in Tiffin, Ohio, they relocated to the Rochester area where he went to work at his Father in Law’s business, Rochester Screw and Bolt, where he would retire from.
Kermit was an avid sports enthusiast and was a voracious reader. He truly loved his family and was one of the kindest of men.
He is survived by his wife Linda; daughter Tere (John) Murphy; son Michael (Hanan); five grandchildren Chip and Ian Murphy, Samuel, Andrew and Grant Evans; two step grandchildren Liv and Gemma Bentley; brother James Evans; paternal Aunt Elizabeth Yerian; maternal Aunt Lorraine (Bill) Macroglou; brother in law William Kimbel; brother and sister in law Leo and Kathy Curro and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters Anna Marie Kimbel and Sandra Evans and three brothers Ken, Dean, and Jack Bruce.
