Newark—Kevin H. Casselman, 65, died Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at the Newark Wayne Community Hospital.

A Celebration of Kevin’s life will be held on Tuesday (January 25th) from 4-6 PM with a brief service at 6:30 PM at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Kevin was born in Geneva on January 24, 1956, the son of Merlyn and Alice Hathaway Casselman. For the past 23 years, he has been a dispatcher for the Wayne County 911 Call Center. He was a 1974 graduate of Newark High School and earned bachelor’s degree from Faith Baptist College in Iowa. During the Christmas season, Kevin loved playing Santa Claus at area orginizations. Kevin was generous with his time helping neighbors in many ways by mowing, shoveling or whatever they needed. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and doing family gathering. He loved his cats.

Kevin is survived by his wife of eight years, Mary Alice Kneut; six children Jessica, Jamin (Heather), Jeremy (Johannah), Jennifer, Janessa, and Justin}; nine grandchildren; stepchildren Greg (Stephanie), Brad (Karen); six step grandchildren; mother Alice Hathaway and widow of his father Yolonda Casselman. He was predeceased by his father Merlyn J. Casselmen, Sr.

Memorials in his name, may be made, to the Wayne County Humane Society, 1475 County House Road, Lyons, N. Y. 14489.
