Newark---Kevin R. Chappell, 49, died on Tuesday (September 30, 2008) at Strong Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 4 PM on Wednesday (October 8th) at St. Michael's Church, South Main Street, Newark, New York. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Kevin was born October 12, 1958, in Lyons the son of Robert and Betty Van Bortel Chappell. He was a customer service and sales representative for Hammer Packaging in Henrietta. Kevin is a graduate of Newark High School Class of 1977 and a graduate of New York State University at Geneseo in 1981. He had been a member of Park Presbyterian Church and had served as an Elder. Kevin was a coach in Newark Little League and the summer soccer program. On October 2nd, he and his wife Deb would have celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary.

He is survived by his wife Deb, daughter Meredith Chappell, his parents Bob and Betty Chappell, his sister Karen Van Liew, niece Nora and nephew Max Van Liew all of Newark; special friends Bob and Kathy Zappia, Jen Churey, John and Terry Schnaars. He was predeceased by his son Derrick in 2003.
