Newark/East Aurora"Larry Johnson, formerly of Newark, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at his home in East Aurora, NY.

Family and friends are welcomed to attend his graveside services on Saturday, February 14th at the Newark Cemetery at 1 PM. A reception, hosted by the deacons, will follow in the lounge of the Park Presbyterian Church, 110 Maple Court, Newark.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Larry's memory to the Wayne County Humane Society, 1475 County House Road, Lyons, New York 14489.

Larry was born on April 16, 1945 in Newark, son of Cornelius and Mildred (Vanderbrook) Johnson. Following high school graduation in 1965, Larry entered the US Air Force, where he spent part of his tour in Greece. When he returned to the States, he trained and worked as a jet engine mechanic in Illinois, Florida and Maryland until he left the service six years later. He then returned to Newark and worked in the plumbing/heating business, followed by self-employment and retirement.

Larry was predeceased by his parents, Cornelius in 1987 and Mildred in 2007. He is survived by his daughter, Sara of Ashburn, VA, a brother Rick (Bev) Johnson of Lyons, NY, many cousins, six nephews and three nieces.
