Newark---Lawrence David, 86, of Hartnagle Road, died Thursday (May 7, 2009) at Rochester General Hospital.

All services are private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Smithville Cemetery, Henderson, New York.

Mr. Lawrence was born on February 9, 1923 in the Town of Henderson, the son of Bino W. and Gladys Mae David David. He was a retired mechanic and had worked for Arcadia Oil for many years. Lawrence was a life member of the Smithville Fire Department and had been a member of the Wayne County Motorcycle Club. He was an avid deer hunter.

He is survived by a daughter Ruth Ann Howard of Newark, a son Charles (Nancy) Bryant of Virginia; nine grandchildren Lawrence (Deb) Howard, Robert (Colleen) Howard, Barbara (Kirk) Kent, Mary Ann Stewart-Hartnagel, Ronald (Jeannette) Bryant, Raymond (Shelia) Bryant, Linda (Daniel) Fox, Susan (Jack) Holmes, Nancy Anna (Thomas) Darin, twenty two great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; as sister-in-law Nona David and several nieces and nephews. Lawrence was predeceased by his wife Alma in 2007 and a brother Nelson in 1988.
