Newark –Lena F. Maslyn, 89, died Monday (March 29, 2010) at the Clifton Springs Nursing Home.

          Friends may call from 6 to 8 P.M. on Friday (April 9^th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller St., Newark.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10A.M. on Saturday (April 10^th) at St. Michael’s Church, South Main Street, Newark with Father Felix Dalimpuo officiating.  Burial will be in Fairville Cemetery.

          Mrs. Maslyn was born on August 12, 1920 in the Town of Manchester, the daughter of Peter J. and Emily Cocquit Mesleyn.  For many years, she had worked in the finishing department at Bloomer Brothers.  Lena was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church and a member of the Women of the Moose at the Palmyra Moose Club.

          She is survived by several nieces and nephews.  Lena was predeceased by her parents and six siblings William Mesleyn, Carl Maslyn, Emma Fisher, Serlin Mander, Edward Mesleyn and Lucy Johnson.
