Linda Valvano
Newark–Linda Valvano, 68, died Thursday (April 8, 2010) at her home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday (April 12) at St. Michael’s Church, South Main Street, Newark.
Memorials, in her name, may be made to the Finger Lakes Hematology & Oncology Center, 6 Ambulance Drive, Clifton Springs, New York 14432 or to LifeTime Care, 1120 South Main Street, Newark, New York 14513.
Mrs. Valvano was born March 5, 1942, in Newark the daughter of
Edmond and Margaret Sullivan Criel. She was a graduate of Newark High School class of 1960. Linda received her nurses training at A. Barton Hepburn Hospital in Ogdensburg, New York and her degree from Finger Lakes Community College. For many years, she was a registered nurse at the Clifton Springs Hospital. She was a member of St. Michael’s Church.
Linda is survived by her husband of 47 years, Michael; two daughters Anne (John) Tickner and Sarah (Greg) Adkins of Newark; two sons Anthony of Fort Pierce, Fl. and David of Newark; eight grandchildren; a sister Joan Ferguson of Baltimore, Md., several nieces and a nephew.
