Newark –Lorraine B. Austin, 77, died Sunday (January 10, 2010) at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.

          Friends may call from 11 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. on Thursday (January 14^th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark, where funeral services will follow at 1:30 P.M. with Rev. Rebecca Laird officiating. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery. Friends are invited to a reception following the services at the Newark Elks Lodge.  

          Memorials in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Road North, Rochester, New York 14609.       

          Mrs. Austin was born in Newark on September 13, 1932, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Victoria Amrose Bramante.  She was a 1950 graduate of Newark High School.  Lorraine was a telephone operator for New York Telephone Company for many years.  She retired in 1997 from Wayne County Department of Social Services where she was a receptionist and phone operator.  An avid reader, she loved to play cards and Scrabble.  Lorraine especially enjoyed time with her family.

          She is survived by three daughters Valerie (Steve) Dulmage of Fairport, Vanessa (Mike) Stewart and Vaun (Tony) Blondell of Newark, two grandchildren Cara and Christopher Dulmage, a brother Don Bramante of Washington, DC, several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband Charles in 1997, three siblings Eleanor Lapresi, Pat and Joe Bramante.
