Clifton Springs/Newark—Louis J. Jurich, 89, died on Wednesday (April 20, 2011) at the House of John in Clifton Springs.
Friends may call from 3-5 P.M. on Saturday (April 23rd) and 2 to 5 P.M. on Sunday (April 24th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark where funeral services will follow at 5 P.M. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 A.M. on Monday (April 25th) at St. Michael’s Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.
Memorials in his name may be made to the House of John, 14 Spring Street, Clifton Springs, New York 14432.
Mr. Jurich was born on March 18, 1922 in New York City, the son of Herman and Flora Payne Jurich. He was a heating and air conditioning service technician. He had worked many years for R.A.E. in Rochester, Pal-Oil and Agway in Palmyra. He retired in 1987. Lou loved the game of chess and the companionship of his many German Shepherds and Black Labs over the years.
He is survived by his wife of Phyllis, three daughters Gail MacWilliams of Newark, Pamela (Mark) Wright of Victor, Vivian Jurich of Jackson Heights; a son James (Ilirianna) Jurich of Washington, D.C.; four grandchildren and three great granddaughters. Lou was predeceased by his parents and a sister Flora Coote.
