Louise E. Salerno
Newark–Louise E. Salerno, 88, died Sunday (May 2, 2010) at the DeMay Living Center.
Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. on Wednesday (May 5th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller St., Newark. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. on Thursday (May 6th) at St. Michael Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial will follow in Newark Cemetery.
Memorials, in her name, may be made to the St. Michael’s School, 320 South Main Street, Newark, New York 14513 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, 14620.
Mrs. Salerno was born March 14, 1933 in Newark, the daughter of Antonio and Mildred Ruffalo Muoio. She was an assembler at Fiber Board for over 39 years, retiring in 1977. Louise was a life-long communicant of St. Michael’s Church. She was the play ground monitor at St. Michael’s School for fifteen years and volunteer in the school for many more years.
She is survived by her daughter Darlene (David) Abeln of Newark; grandchildren Courtney Abeln of Rochester and Matthew (Abby) Abeln of West Henrietta; a great grandson Nicholas Arthur Abeln; a sister Josephine Spadafore of Newark. Louise was predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1997.
