Louise Yonker
Newark—Louise Yonker, 89, died Thursday (September 14, 2017) at the Newark Manor Nursing Home.
Friends may call from 4-7 PM on Monday (September 18th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark followed by a priviate funeral service. Burial will be in South Lyons Cemetary.
Louise was born at home in Phelps on October 16, 1927, the daughter of the late Harvey and Edith Wilson Smith, Sr. Throughout the years, she had worked at Mobil Chemical, Nichol's in Canandaigua and Allison's in Geneva. Louise loved to cook, bake, make ceramics and dance. Mostly, she liked spending time with her family.
She is survived by her two sons Larry Tilburg of Quitman, Tx and Chris (Lisa) Tilburg of Mineola, Tx.; grandson Brandon (Rene) Tilburg and granddaughter Madison; her brothers Harold (Nancy) Smith of Phelps, Harvey Smith of Farmington; sisters Jane (Bill) Melcher of Clifton Springs and Phyllis (Vincent) Maslyn of Phelps; a sister-in-law Mary Smith of Burdett; several nieces and nephews. Louise was predeceased by her husbands Chester Tilburg and Chester Yonker, sisters Frances (Steve)Zadarlik and Alice (Ken) Craver and a brother Lewis Smith
