Gates/Niles, OH—Margaret L.”Cindy” Shehy McCallum , 64, died Monday, (August 30, 2021) at Rochester General Hospital.

Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery.

Cindy was born in Warren, Ohio on October 19, 1956 the daughter of the late William II and Genevieve Wargacki Shehy. She was a graduate of Niles McKinley High School in Niles OH., Class of 1974. In 1975, she graduated from Raphael’s School of Beauty Culture. For many years she served as a hair stylist. She was a member of Congressman James Traficant’s Trumbull County Staff. Cindy was the only female member of the Mahoning Valley Professional Baseball Assoc., whose mission was to promote and support minor league baseball in the region. She was a die hard Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavaliers fan. She enjoyed golf, NASCAR, tennis and country music. On November 20, 2006, she married the love of her life Steve McCallum.

Cindy is survived by her husband Stephen; two sisters Mary Harding and Terry (Steve Wolocki) Shehy; two brothers William III and Thomas Shehy; Cheryl and Peter Finta, who she thought of as her third sister and brother; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents.
