Margaret "Peg" Sloane

Newark---Margaret "Peg" Sloane, 74, of East Maple Street, died Friday (January 14, 2005) at the Wayne County Nursing Home.

Funeral Services will be at 2 P.M. on Monday (January 17th) at the Park Presbyterian Church, Maple Court, Newark. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Geneva.

Memorials in her name may be made to the Park Presbyterian Church, Maple Court, Newark, New York 14513.

Mrs. Sloane was born on December 8, 1930, in Albany, New York the daughter of William and Dorothy Pelton Scofield. Peg graduated from Rochester General Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. She worked as a registered nurse at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital and for many years at the Clifton Springs Hospital, retiring in 1995. She was a member of the Park Presbyterian Church where she had been an Elder and was involved with the Together In Christ organization.

She is survived by four sons David (Sandy) of Lyons, Douglas PhD (Janis) of Hyattsville, Md., Gregg (Debra) of Newark and Gary of Hyannis, Ma., nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren, a sister-in-law Hilda Scofield of Penn Yan. Peg was predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1982 and a brother George Scofield in 2004.

The family is being served by the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home.
