No prior calling. Father Peter Clifford will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM on Saturday (December 16th) at St. Michael's Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Mrs. Allen was born on September 3, 1912 in Newark, the daughter of Michael and Catherine Brown Gerber. She was a graduate of Newark High School and The Rochester Business Institute. She had worked for the New York Telephone Company and then for nineteen years, Marguerite was a cafeteria manager in Newark School District, retiring in 1974. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Church and a member of its Rosary and Altar Society. She had served as chairperson of the Wayne County Girl Scout Council, volunteered at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, worked at the election polling places and helped out with many community charities.
Marguerite had devoted her life to her late husband Franklin who died April 1, 1988 after 52 years of marriage. She is survived by her sister Betty Gerber of Newark, five children Marsha (Thomas) Tarantelli of Fairport, Joan Brady of Newark, Michael (Linda) Allen of Dedham, Ma., Kathryn Allen of Afton, NY and Thomas Allen of Philadelphia; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
