Newark---Marianna G. Venoski, 73, died on Saturday (June 21, 2008), at Rochester General Hospital.
Friends may call Tuesday (June 24th) from 4 " 7 PM at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Father Mark Brewer will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM on Wednesday (June 25th) at St. Michael's Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery.

Mrs. Venoski was born on September 10, 1934, in Yugoslavia the daughter of Milan and Maria Vanko Gligorijevic. For many years, she lived in Belgium where she worked as hostess and translator for the City of Brussels. Mrs. Venoski and her husband came to the United States in 1963. She received her Bachelors and Master Degrees in 1983 from Nazareth College. Mrs. Venoski taught foreign languages at St. Michael's School for eighteen years, retiring in 2001. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Church. She was a member of the New York State Foreign Language Assoc. and the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital Auxiliary.
In 1985, Mrs. Venoski was the senior division shot put champion of the Empire State Games.
She is survived by her children John (Lois) Venoski, III, of Newark, Anne-Marie (Scot) Hanson of Orlando, Fl, and Dr. Suzanne (Warren) Prestwich of Baltimore, Md., seven grandchildren Brynna, Jack and Andrew Venoski, Alexander and Katherine Hanson, William and Thomas Prestwich; her mother Maria Gligorijevic and a brother Mirko (Gisele) Gregory of Brussels, Beligan.
Mrs. Venoski was predeceased by her husband Dr. John Venoski on June 21, 1997, and her father Milan Gligorijevic in 1977.
