Palmyra—Martha Jane Bain, 93, died Friday (April 13, 2012) at the Clifton Springs Hospital
Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. on Tuesday (April 17th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark, New York where funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Wednesday (April 18th). Burial will be in Palmyra Cemetery.
Memorials, in her name, may be made to First United Methodist Church, Palmyra or to the Clifton Springs Nursing Home Activities Fund.
Mrs. Bain was born on August 12, 1918 in Newark, the daughter of the late Roscoe and Helen “Nell” Grieve Warner. A 1936 graduate of Newark High School, she had been the office manager for Diamond International in Newark for many years. Jane had also run a ceramics business for twelve years in Palmyra. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Palmyra.
She is survived by two daughters Caren Napoleon of Newark and Barbara (Thomas) Ray of Palmyra; a son Carl (Lane) Bain of Bell, FL.; ten grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Jane is predeceased by her husband Carl in 1987, two daughters Jane and Joan; granddaughter Kim Bain, son-in-law Ray Napoleon and two sisters Carol Miller and Janet Hause.
