Newark"Mary Chiazza, 85, died Monday (June 8, 2009) at the Newark Manor Nursing Home.

Friends may call from 3-7 P.M. on Wednesday (June 10th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Peter Clifford at 10 A.M. on Thursday (June 11th) at St. Michael's Church, 325 South Main Street Newark. Burial will be in the Newark Cemetery.

Memorials in her name may be made to Newark-Manor Nursing Home, 222 West Pearl Street, New York 14513.

Mrs. Chiazza was born on January 29, 1924, in Newark, the daughter of Joseph and Rose Fioti Salatino. A life long resident of Newark, she was a communicant of St. Michael Church.

She is survived by her daughter Angela (Len) Barron of Canandaigua, a son Michael Chiazza of Rochester, two grandchildren Rhonda Barron-Morehouse and Gordon Barron, Sr., two great grandchildren Nicole and Gordon Barron Jr., several nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her husband Gaetano "Tom" in 2003, her siblings Angeline Pizzirusso, Phyllis Plyter, Carmela Curcio, Nicholas Salatino, Dominick Salatino and Elizabeth Muoio.
