Mary A. Crescibene
Newark—Mary A. Crescibene, 99, died Tuesday (April 26, 2011) peacefully at her home.
Friends may call from 11 A.M. to Noon on Saturday (April 30th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark, where funeral services will be held at noon. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.
Memorials, in her name, may be made to St. Michael’s Church, 401 South Main Street, Newark, New York 14513 or to the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 571, Newark, New York 14513.
Mrs. Crescibene was born January 14, 1912 in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Rocco and Mary De Francisco Arcaro. She was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church and a member of the Rosary and Altar Society. Over the years, Mary was active in the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, St. Michael’s School Mothers Club, the PTA and she was a Girl Scout Leader. Mary had a passion for cooking, especially for her family.
She is survived by her husband of 76 years, John L.; four children Gloria Marro of Byron, John (Jill) Crescibene of Loveland, CO., Judith (William) Knapp of Brentwood, TN, and Rita (John) Manley of Keuka Park; eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a great granddaughter; brother John Arcaro of Edenton, NC; two sisters Pat Brigandi and Helene Siano both of Syracuse, many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by a grandson John Marro and five siblings.
