Newark --- Mary G. Wierda, 91, passed away on Friday (August 17, 2012) at the Wayne County Nursing Home with her daughter at her side.

            Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M. on Monday (August 20^th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, (August 21st) at St. Michael’s Church, South Main Street, Newark.  Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

        Mary Gloria Critelli was born on May 4, 1921 in Newark, the daughter of  late Joseph and Rose Bevacqua Critelli.   She graduated from Newark High School in 1939 and a life time communicant of St. Michael Church.  At one time, Mary was employed by Bloomer Brothers, Western Union and Sear’s Roebuck Catalog Store in Newark.

        She is survived by a daughter Karen (Steven) Helstrom and a grandson Brandon Helstrom of Newark; several nieces and nephews.  Mary was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Donald James Wierda in 1996; a brothers Albert and baby brother Anthony Critelli.
