Molly was born on June 8, 1949, in Corning, the daughter of the late John and Mary Krebs Kester. She was a graduate of Corning East High School And the Catherine McAuley School of Nursing in Batavia, NY where she earned her Licensed Practical Nursing degree. She continued her education at Corning Community College where she graduated with her Registered Nursing degree. She was a Registered Nurse for forty-two years. She retired from Rochester General Hospital after thirty-eight years of service. She was a member of St. Michael’s Church in Newark for 49 years. She was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Michael’s and for a time, the coordinator of Martha’s Ministry. She was a member of the East Palmyra Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for 49 years & served as president of the Ladies Auxiliary for more than 20 years. Molly also volunteered for Meal on Wheels, delivering meals. Molly was always a giving person, looking for ways to help others in need. Molly’s warm presence and caring nature left undeniable marks on all those that knew her.

Molly was the glue that held the Jackson family together. Family was the most important thing in her life. She was also the first mate & navigator of the family. She loved camping with the family & was the navigator using maps, before there was GPS. She always got the family to their destination. Molly loved to cook, as many friends can attest to. She loved being taken for rides throughout the countryside. Her husband often told friends he was driving Miss Molly when asked what he was doing.

She is survived by her husband of over fifty years Derwent “Derry” Jackson; a son Jeremiah (Melanie) Jackson; a daughter Kathlynn Jackson; two grandchildren Chase and Ava Jackson. Molly’s passing leaves a void in many hearts, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the House of John, 14 Spring St., Clifton Springs, NY 14432 or to the East Palmyra Fire Department Ladies Aux., 2145 Tellier Road, Palmyra, NY 14522.
