Newark"Matthew L. DeHimer, 24, died unexpectedly from a fall at his home on West Miller Street on Sunday (October 9, 2005).

Friends may call from 4-8 PM on Wednesday (September 12th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Father Peter Clifford will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM on Thursday (Oct. 13th) at St. Michael's Church. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery.

Contributions in his name may be made to Matt DeHimer Memorial Fund, @WCTA, 201 North Main Street, Newark, New York 14513. The fund is planned for the benefit of his soon to be born child.

Matt was born in Newark on November 17, 1980, the son of Lawrence and Catherine Dowling DeHimer. He has been working for the North American Filter Corp. in Newark. He was a graduate of Newark High School, Class of 1999 and had attended the Finger Lakes Community College. Matt was a communicant of St. Michael's Church. He enjoyed football and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan.

He is survived by his parents Larry and Cathy of Newark, a sister Megan DeHimer of Rochester, his special friend Cory Brink of Newark, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
