Newark"Maxine Pulver, 81, died Wednesday (September 6, 2006) at the DeMay Living Center.

Friends may call from 3-6 P.M. on Saturday (September 9th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Funeral Services will be at 1 P.M. on Sunday (September 10th) at the funeral home with the Rev. Deborah Grohman, officiating. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Finger Lakes Hematology & Oncology Center, Ambulance Drive, Clifton Springs, New York 14432 or the Newark-Arcadia Historical Society, PO Box 289, Newark, New York 14513.

Mrs. Pulver was born on December 19, 1924, in Lafayette, Indiana the daughter of William and Hulda Bowdle Blanton. She was a long time employee of C.H. Stuart, Inc., where she was a foreman in the jewelry factory. Then for several years, she was a co-owner of the Newark Granite Works until her retirement in 1982. Maxine was a life- time member of the Park Presbyterian Church and a member of the Presbyterian Women. She was an active member of the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital Auxiliary with over 5000 volunteer hours in the snack bar and the gift shop. Maxine worked on the Board of Elections in Newark for many years and was a member of the Newark-Arcadia Historical Society.

Maxine is survived by her husband of 63 years, Lindorf, two daughters Linda (Russell) Barber of Naples, Fl, Carleen (Vern) Frost of Williamson, a son Gary (Karen) of Arlington, TX; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; two sisters Norma Jane Brown and Marilyn Blanton both of Danville, Ill., two brothers Marvin (Esther) Blanton and G. Thomas (Betty) Blanton of Danville, Ill. several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother Willard Blanton.
