Canandaigua/Sodus—Megan Marie VanCuyck, 24, died Friday (August 7, 2009) at Strong Memorial Hospital after a courageous life-long  battle with a congenital heart defect.

          Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. on Monday (August 10^th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark.  Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday (August 11^th) at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Sodus Rural Cemetery.

          In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made, in her name, to the Mary Parks Center, University of Rochester at 400 Red Creek Drive Suite 110, Rochester, NY 14623.

          Megan was born on June 19 1985 in Newark, the daughter of Jay W. Jr. and Cathy Kerschner VanCuyck.  She was 2003 graduate of Canandaigua Academy.

          Megan is survived by her parents, Jay Jr. of Sodus and Cathy of Canandaigua, sisters Stacey Minute and Jessica (Andrew) Morey of Canandaigua and Ryann VanCuyck of Sodus, a twin brother Morgan of Sodus and a brother Brian of Canandaigua; grandparents Catherine Hall of Keene Valley, NY, Jay and Joyce VanCuyck of Florida
