Newark—Melody C. Neely, 54, died on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Rochester General Hospital.

Friday, April 22, 2022 at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark, New York. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at St. Michael Church, 401 South Main Street, Newark, New York. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Melody was born on January 26, 1968, the daughter of the late Trueman and Darlyne Schober Cox in San Antonio, Texas. She was a graduate of Providence High School, Class of 1986. On August 4, 1989, she married the love of her life Scott A. Neely. She and her family moved to Newark, NY seven years ago. For many years, she worked, as a bus monitor for Newark Central Schools. Recently she became a cafeteria worker at Lincoln School. She was a Communicant of St. Michael Church in Newark. Melody was a member of TIC (Together in Christ). She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of the Mayflower.

She is survived by her husband Scott Neely of Newark; four sons William (Christina) Neely of Delaware, Ohio, Austin Clay Neely of Newark, John Neely of Newark and David Neely of Newark; a granddaughter Serenity Neely; two sisters Connie (Earl) Baugher and Dolores Cox; many nieces, nephews and good friends.
