Newark—Michael S. Hutchings, 35, passed away on July 15, 2024.

A private graveside service will be held in Newark Cemetery.

Michael was born in Gloversville, NY on May 15, 1989, the son of Rhonda Hutchings and Kevin VanHoesen. He was a graduate of Newark Senior High School, class of 2009. Michael earned his associates degree from FLCC. Michael had a wonderful sense of humor. He was a class clown, always making people laugh. He loved sports, especially football. The Dallas Cowboys was his team, a rival to his mother’s Giants team. He was also great at drawing, and he expressed his talent with his colorful tatoos, a passion Michael and his father shared together. Michael loved and missed his grandma Gladys. Michael is resting in her tender arms, once again.

He is survived by his mother Rhonda Hutchings; father Kevin VanHoesen; stepfather James Weibert, two children Jacob and Carsyn Hutchings; stepson Brysyn; sister Sadie VanHoesen; his Aunt Phyllis (Rod) Dingee; several aunts and uncles on his father’s side; his grandfather David Spence.
