Newark---Michael Thomas Webb--59, died Thursday (March 22, 2007) at Strong Memorial Hospital.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M., on Monday (March 26th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street Newark. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Tuesday (March 27th) at St. Michael Church, South Main Street, Newark with Rev. Peter Clifford, officiating. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Mr. Webb was born January 7, 1948, in Butte, Montana the son of John and Bernadine Johnston Webb. He grew up in Butte and went to Seattle University. He was a Certified Travel Counselor. In 1975, Mike opened a branch of the Seattle based, All-Around Travel in Newark and in 1980, he established another branch in Rochester, operating it until his retirement in 2002. He was a member of St. Michael's Church and a past president of the Palmyra VFW War Dads. Over the course of his professional career, Mike was supportive of many civic, community and youth organizations. Before golf tournaments were poplar in this area, he started and ran tournaments to benefit the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital Foundation and the Alex Eligh Community Center, personally sponsoring well-known sports personalities to participate. He had also been past president of the Newark Country Club, served on the Board of Newark-Wayne Community Hospital Foundation, member of the Newark Elks, Newark Lions Club and before moving East was a member and past president of the West Seattle Lions Club. Mike was a great fan of Notre Dame football and Syracuse Basketball and an ardent and loyal fan of the Buffalo Bills.
He is survived by three sons Lance (Lori) of Farmington, Sean (Tara) of Coachella, CA., and Tanner (Amanda) of Canton, MA., two grandchildren Emily and Everett; a brother James (Bobbi-Lou) of La Quinta, CA., a sister Nellie (Todd) Kerns of Moses Lake, WA., several nieces and nephews.
