Rochester/Newark –Michael W. O’Connor, 55, died Wednesday (November 18, 2009) at the Webster Comfort Care Home.  Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. on Friday (November 20th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Saturday (November 21st) at St. Michael’s Church, South Main Street, Newark.  Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery in Palmyra.

Memorials in his name may be made to the Webster Comfort Care Home, 700 Holt Road, Webster, New York 14580.

Mr. O’Connor was born in Clifton Springs on August 5, 1954, the son of Edward and Alice DeGroote O’Connor.  Mike was a master carpenter doing finishing work at Sibley’s Department Stores and for Gerber Homes.

Mike is survived by two daughters Michelle and Mandi O’Connor both of Rochester, his ex-wife Pattie, his father Edward (Alma) of Port Gibson, nine siblings Mark (Penny) O’Connor, Tom (Lorrie) O’Connor, Shirley (Butch) Roberts, Kathy (Ken) Shero, Deborah (Don) Oakleaf, John & James O’Connor, Mary (Art) Swartele and Edward O’Connor, many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his mother Alice DeGroote O’Connor.
