Newark---Minna Peck Fisher, 86, of Newark went home to the Lord on Tuesday (March 3, 2009).

At her request, there will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held for family and friends on Saturday (March 7th) at 11 AM at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Rev. Christy Wareham, of the Park Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Newark Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the DeMay Living Center activities fund, 1200 Driving Park Avenue, Newark, New York 14513 or the Wayne County Humane Society, 1475 County House Road, Lyons New York 14489.

Mrs. Fisher was born on October 28, 1922 in Port Gibson, the daughter of Howard and Clara Button Peck. She lived and worked the majority of her life in Newark, retiring from C.H. Stuart & Co.. Minna's love for family was the key focus of her life.

She will be greatly missed by her adoring daughter, Linda (Donald) Wiltsie of Newark, devoted daughter-in-law Jean Fisher (fianc Tom Bezon) of Victor, three grandchildren Dawn (Michael) DiGiovacchino, Sharon Wiltsie, and Robert (Sarah) Fisher III; five great grand children Nicholas, Gabriella, Kellie, Amanda and Kaylee; a sister Dorothy McKee of Palmyra, a special and devoted nephew James C. (Barbara) Hicks and several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Maynard in 1968, a loving son Robert Fisher, Sr. in 2001, a grandson Robert Fisher II in 1969 and a brother Howard Bryant.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff at DeMay Living Center for the compassion and care shown to her.
