Penn Yan/Newark"Owen C. Rogers, 53, died Friday (July 20, 2007).

Funeral services for Owen will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday (July 25th), at the All Faith Chapel, Building 36 at the VA Medical Center in Canandaigua. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery.

In memory of Owen, the family request memorials to VA Medical Center, DTC Building #36, 400 Fort Hill Avenue, Canandaigua, New York 14424.

Mr. Rogers was born on May 14, 1954 in Romulus, New York, the son of Ralph and Ardiss Browning Rogers. He was raised in Newark and was a 1972 graduate of Newark High School. After high school, he served his country with the US Navy. He graduated from the Great Lakes Naval Base and was first in his class as an Optical Mate. He was a specialist with periscopes and binocular on submarines and served two years in Scotland servicing submarines before being honorably discharged on February 3, 1983. Owen was a member of the Disabled American Veteran, Chapter 4 in Canandaigua and the Commanders Club. He loved music and playing the sax and guitar.

He is survived by his brother David (Maggie) and their sons Seth and Ryan, sisters Marie, Dawn, Dorothy, Patricia and Linda, an aunt Mildred Rogers and several other nieces and nephews.
