Newark/Palmyra—Peter Bouwens, 79, died Saturday (September 5, 2009) at the Clifton Springs Hospital

          Family and friends may call from 12-2  P.M. on Wednesday (September 9th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark a funeral services will follow at 2 PM.  Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery with full military honors.

          Mr. Bouwens was born April 13, 1930 in Newark, the son of Peter and Marie Bouwens.  He had worked for Wayne Floral and retired from Spinco Metal Products in Newark.  Peter served with the Army in Korea during the Korean Conflict and is a member of the Arcadia Memorial Post VFW.

          He is survived by daughters Brenda DeToye of Palmyra, Jae Kommer Williams of Newark, Debbie Horner of Port Gibson, Penny Kniest of Newark and Sheila Larson of TN, a son Frank Bouwens of Newark, sisters Lola Viola and Laura (Ted) Sekolic of Newark, Geraldine (Eugene) Whitmore of Lyons, a brother Frank Bouwens,

a granddaughter Nakita Navarro and many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
