Newark"Philip Roswell Earl, 83, died Tuesday (May 9, 2006) at the DeMay Living Center in Newark.
Friends may call from 4-7 PM on Friday (May 12th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Funeral services will be at 11 AM on Saturday (May 13th) at St. Mark's Episcipal Church, 400 S. Main St. Newark with the Rev Carmen Rae Seinfert officiating. Burial in St. Mark's Memorial Garden.

Mr. Earl was born September 22, 1922, in Rochester, NY, the son of Schyler and Leonie Millard Earl. He graduated from Taft School and Wesleyan College in Middletown, Connecticut. A 2nd Lieutenant, Phil was a B-24 pilot during World War II in US Army Air Corp. Phil worked as a sales manager of Empire Crafts Corp, division of C.H. Stuart. He later worked in personnel for Bloomer Brothers and the University of Rochester retiring 1976. He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church where he had served on Vestry and was Treasurer for many years. Phil was active in the Newark-Arcadia Historical Society, Wayne County United Way, Wayne County Red Cross and the Newark Country Club.
Mr. Earl is survived by his wife Suzanne Earl, a son Andrew (Evette) Earl of Rohnert Park, CA, three grandchildren Melissa (Scott) Kinslow, Jordan Earl and Jesse Earl, one great granddaughter, Hannah Kinslow and a daughter-in-law Sharon Earl of Newark; stepchildren Kay (Mark) Golding of Newark, William (Julie) Crothers of Fl., Daniel (Lisa) Crothers of Ca. and Walter (Kathy) Crothers of Mn., a brother Donald (Carolyn Earl of Ca. Phil was predeceased by his first wife Barbara Earl in 1986, two sons David in 1988 and Timothy in 1994, a sister Barbara Reiheiner in 1998
